Toni Richter, Somatic Therapist

My mission is to walk alongside women and mothers as they explore old patterns, tend to inherited pain, and reconnect with the strength and wisdom already living in their bodies. I hold space for a future where women trust themselves deeply, move from embodied knowing, and gently set down what was never theirs to carry.

A woman with glasses and long wavy hair, smiling and laughing, is sitting on a chair. She is wearing a white and blue striped shirt and pink pants. She has her hand on her head and is looking joyful.

Toni Richter | Somatic Therapist is a virtual therapy practice dedicated to supporting women, especially mothers and female therapists, as they work at the roots of their experiences. I work with clients in Missouri and Utah who want to go deeper than traditional talk therapy, are open to exploring nuance and compassion for their protective parts, and are seeking a more embodied, trauma-responsive approach.

Through EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, trauma-conscious yoga, and IFS, I offer a guided process of slowing down, listening to the body, and making room for what wants to shift. This work supports women in understanding attachment wounds, noticing patterns like perfectionism and shame, and building the capacity for new ways of relating to themselves.

I don’t promise to “fix” or “erase” what you’ve lived through. Instead, I help you cultivate the conditions where healing can take root—where your body leads, your wisdom comes forward, and you move toward a life that feels more grounded and authentic.

My approach is relational, body-based, and informed by a feminist and decolonized framework that recognizes how patriarchal and capitalist systems shape our nervous systems and our sense of self.

Therapy with me is a space to practice being supported and challenged, to reconnect with what’s true for you, and to set down burdens that were never yours to begin with.

In short: I support and guide women—especially mothers and female therapists—who want are ready to go deeper than traditional talk therapy. Through somatic approaches, I help you reconnect with your body and create the internal conditions where transformation and reconnection can emerge. This is a space to gently release what you’ve been carrying and move toward a life that feels more like your own.
